Philips introduced the Ambient LED, a 23-watt LED lamp with a brightness equivalent to a 100-watt incandescent lamp. It produces 1700 lumens of brightness, equivalent to 73.9 lm/w. Although it is not the first 100-watt equivalent brightness LED light, it is a high-intensity LED light that entered the energy-saving lamp market earlier.
An important factor limiting the use of LED lamps is the lack of high-flow brightness LEDs. Currently, customers can only choose compact lamps instead of 75W or 100W incandescent lamps. Philips did not disclose the life of the new LED, only claiming it is 25 times longer than the traditional incandescent lamp, which is equivalent to 25,000 hours.
Philips plans Ambien LED to be available in the fourth quarter, the price has not been announced, it is likely to exceed $30.
