For a 96-well plate, each well can hold around 330–460 μl of liquid. Some automated washers allow you to dispense more than that, such as 1 ml per well. The trick here is to activate both the dispensing and aspiration functions simultaneously. This means while the washer adds more liquid, it also draws it back out, ensuring thorough cleaning without spilling into adjacent wells.
