A reference design that combines AmLogic's A/V processor with TDI's USB controller enables the system to deliver superior performance and support for playback of MP3, MPEG-1, 2, 4 and JPEG files with USB hosts interconnected. The solution has been successfully used by media-leading electronics manufacturers in media device design to support the promotion of TVs and DVD players with USB ports. These new devices can be played directly from an external storage device, including flash and hard drives, via a USB interface.
TDI's TD242LP and TD1120 controllers provide customers with a flexible USB design that delivers high performance, low power consumption and a smaller footprint, enabling the product to simultaneously execute multiple applications as a USB host and USB peripheral. The TD242LP is available in 64-ball 5x5mm TF-BGA and 64-pin 10x10mm LQFP packages. The TD1120 is available in 84-ball 7x7mm TF-BGA and 100 pin 12x12 LQFP packages.
