National Star Micro & Mini LED Research Center unveiled
On March 2, Guoxing Optoelectronics officially launched the "National Star Micro & Mini LED Research Center" in a grand unveiling ceremony. The event was attended by key company leaders, including Chairman He Yong, General Manager Wang Sen, Executive Deputy General Manager Lei Zihe, Deputy General Manager Li Cheng, and Assistant General Manager Ouyang Xiaobo, along with heads of various departments. During the ceremony, Chairman He Yong and General Manager Wang Sen jointly unveiled the new research center, marking a significant milestone for the company.
The establishment of this center reflects Guoxing Optoelectronics' commitment to leading-edge innovation in the LED industry. As the demand for ultra-high-definition displays continues to grow, Micro LED and Mini LED technologies have emerged as the next big trend. By setting up this dedicated research center, Guoxing is not only advancing its strategic goals of "high-tech, high-scale production, and international market expansion," but also reinforcing its position as a pioneer in LED packaging technology.
This initiative is particularly notable as it marks the first such research center dedicated to Micro and Mini LED technology in China. The center aims to drive technological breakthroughs, secure future innovations, and prepare the company for the next wave of growth in the display industry.
Guoxing has been investing in Mini and Micro LED technologies since 2015. Currently, the company has achieved significant progress: Mini LED chip technology is mature and ready for mass production, while HD Mini LED display products are in trial production. These products offer advantages like anti-collision performance, wide color gamut, high contrast, and reliability. Meanwhile, P0.5 and smaller Mini LED display technology is under development, targeting high-end applications such as exhibitions, cinemas, museums, and home entertainment systems.
In the field of backlighting, Guoxing is collaborating with international manufacturers and expects to launch Mini LED backlight modules within the year.
Looking ahead, the National Star Micro & Mini LED Research Center will focus on developing mass production technology for Mini LED displays below P0.5, creating Mini LED backlight modules, and advancing flexible surface Mini LED packaging. It will also work on Micro LED chips and related technologies, aiming to build a portfolio of IP-protected innovations. The goal is to promote the adoption and standardization of these cutting-edge technologies, positioning Guoxing as a global leader in LED display packaging.
