[NetEase Smart News, July 22nd] Recently, DataVisor held a press conference in Beijing, where they introduced their unique unsupervised learning-based anti-fraud technology. During the event, they also announced their continued commitment to expanding their presence in the Chinese market.
DataVisor provides security detection services using AI technology, focusing on identifying suspicious users and fraudulent activities across multiple industries. Their client base includes social networking sites, gaming platforms, e-commerce websites, and financial service providers. Notably, DataVisor's anti-fraud technology is patented and operates independently of labeled or supervised machine learning data. Every hour, the system processes billions of events, automatically detecting and identifying potential malicious attacks. This means that the platform can offer real-time fraud monitoring and early warning alerts before any damage occurs.
According to DataVisor Co-founder and CEO Yinglian Xie, the company was originally established in the U.S. Last year, they began building a team in China with the goal of leveraging their core technologies to fully explore the vast opportunities within the Chinese market. She emphasized that China’s large population and market size make fraud a significant issue for both users and businesses alike. As society progresses and technology advances, many traditional businesses are now moving their operations online but often lack the necessary anti-fraud tools. DataVisor aims to provide solutions that help prevent these issues from causing financial loss.
Yinglian Xie further explained that DataVisor offers a range of product solutions including financial fraud detection, anti-money laundering analysis, as well as social and electronic fraud prevention. These tools assist clients in addressing problems such as identity theft, account misuse, fraudulent transactions, internal risk management, fake reviews, promotional abuse, and money laundering schemes.
Currently, DataVisor serves several prominent clients like China’s Momo Tech, American review site Yelp, international gaming firm IGG, and visual sharing app Pinterest. In October 2015, the company secured funding led by GSR Ventures and New Enterprise Associates. Today, DataVisor employs nearly 50 staff members at its U.S. headquarters while planning to hire another 50 employees in China this year.
As part of the event, participants were shown images showcasing DataVisor's work environment and team activities, highlighting their collaborative culture and innovative spirit. For instance, one photo displayed employees gathered around whiteboards brainstorming ideas, demonstrating how teamwork drives their success. Another image featured the company logo prominently displayed in their office space, reinforcing their brand identity.
In conclusion, DataVisor continues to grow rapidly both internationally and domestically. By combining cutting-edge AI technology with dedicated local support, they aim to protect businesses and consumers from ever-evolving cyber threats. With ongoing investments in research and development, DataVisor remains committed to staying ahead of emerging challenges in the digital age. (By Ding Xi)
