Oppo15 related patent exposure configuration "bangs" shaped screen

On March 2nd, Sina Mobile News reported that OPPO's official Weibo account unveiled a teaser poster for its upcoming flagship smartphone. The poster reveals that the next major model will skip the R13 and directly be named R15, marking a shift in naming convention. This new device is expected to feature a "notch" design similar to the iPhone X, which is becoming a popular trend in the smartphone industry.  The official poster also announced the release of the R15 Dream Edition, with the slogan "Super Visual Field Full Screen" emphasizing the phone’s immersive display. Notably, the model skipped the number 13, which is often considered unlucky in Western cultures. This decision suggests a strategic move to appeal to a broader international audience. From the poster, the design of the OPPO R15 has been fully revealed. It features a "notch" at the top of the screen, housing the front-facing camera and sensors. However, compared to the iPhone X, the notch on the R15 appears more compact, giving the device a cleaner and more modern look. Additionally, the use of the "notch" design has minimized the "forehead" area and narrowed the bottom bezel, resulting in a more seamless full-screen experience. OPPO has been working on this type of screen design for some time. According to data from the State Intellectual Property Office, OPPO filed several patents related to special-shaped screens as early as 2017, with some being approved by September of that year. The R15 is one of the first devices to implement these patented designs.  The adoption of a "notch" screen represents a significant step forward in achieving a higher screen-to-body ratio, offering users a more immersive visual experience. As smartphone manufacturers continue to push the boundaries of design, this approach has become one of the most visually appealing solutions for maximizing screen space. Moreover, OPPO has always focused on camera innovation. With the R15, it’s likely that the company will introduce new photography features, potentially enhancing user experience and setting new standards in mobile photography.
