MAX9270 Gigabit multimedia deserializer with spread spectrum and duplex control channels

The deserializer uses Maxim's MAX9270's Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link (GMSL) technology. The function of this device has no output as the same enable (low level enable) pin of the MAX9260 deserializer. The output is enabled or disabled by the register. Any pair of GMSL serial deserializers form a complete digital serial link for high-speed video, audio and control data transmission.

The 15-meter shielded twisted pair (STP) cable that accepts the maximum serial deserializer with a payload data rate of 2.5Gbps. The 24-bit or 32-bit width parallel interface can be up to 104MHz or 78MHz, respectively, the largest bus clock. The serial link supports from QVGA display (320 × 240) to XGA (1280 × 768), or dual-screen WVGA (854 × 480 × 2).

The 24-bit or 32-bit mode handles 21 or 29-bit data, as well as an I ² S input, supporting 4-32-bit audio word lengths and sampling rates from 8kHz to 192kHz. The embedded control channel forms a link between a full-duplex, 100kbps differential to 1Mbps UART serializer and deserializer. The host electronic control unit (ECU) or microcontroller (μC) resides either in the serialization (video display) or deserializer (image sensing). In addition, it can be connected to a remote microcontroller for control via a serial peripheral in the I²C (basic mode) of the control channel or a user-defined full-duplex UART format (bypass mode) in the European currency unit /.

The channel equalizer expands the connection length and improves the reliability of the link. Spread spectrum can reduce the EMI of the parallel output data signal. Differential connections comply with ISO 10605 and IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection standards.

This device uses a 3.3V core power supply and a 1.8V to 3.3VI / O power supply. The device is packaged in a 56-pin TQFN (8 × 8 × 0.75) with an exposed pad. Electrical performance is guaranteed in the automotive temperature range of -40 ° C to + 105 ° C.
