CEVA, a global leader in signal processing IP for smart and connected devices, has announced that Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. has launched its Dynamic Speaker Management (DSM) software on the CEVA-TeakLite-4 ultra-low power audio/voice DSP platform. The DSM-optimized software is now available for integration into CEVA-TeakLite-4-based systems and has already been adopted by leading smartphone OEMs.

Many modern devices—such as smartphones, wireless earbuds, and smartwatches—face significant challenges when it comes to speaker design. As components become smaller, they must also comply with strict power constraints, which limits the performance of traditional Class D amplifiers. However, DSM running on CEVA-TeakLite-4, combined with Maxim’s enhanced IV sense Class D speaker amplifier, overcomes these limitations. It delivers a richer, more dynamic sound experience, with 2.5 times the loudness and twice the bass depth compared to conventional amplification methods.
