NI Introduces NI PXIe-1491 Digital Audio and Video Analyzer for HDMI, DVI and Mobile Devices

21ic National Instruments (NI) recently introduced the latest multimedia test solution - the NI PXIe-1491 digital audio and video analyzer for HDMI, DVI and mobile devices. For image performance testing and high-throughput testing of consumer electronics such as set-top boxes, Blu-ray players, smartphones and tablets, the NI PXIe-1491 provides automated, high-performance measurements that avoid subjective manual operations.

The NI Video Measurement Suite included with the NI PXIe-1491 is versatile and can analyze a wide range of video standards. NI also offers NI AudioMASTER software for in-depth audio testing such as frequency response and total harmonic distortion (THD). In addition to additional software such as NI Image Quality Analysis (PQA), NI PQA provides best-in-class user experience (QoE) metrics such as peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR) and structural similarity metrics (SSIM). NI PQA software combines PXI Express technology with highly parallel measurement algorithms to help engineers perform real-time measurements such as subtitle sync, macroblock, frame loss, and pixelation.

The advantages of the NI PXIe-1491 are not limited to measuring consumer electronics in the home.
