Foxconn Chengdu builds 300,000 iPad shipments per month

Foxconn Group, Apple's co-production supplier, has set up a new factory in Chengdu to produce iPads. At present, Foxconn Chengdu Branch has started recruiting employees and it is reported that the employee’s basic salary has reached 1,500 yuan.

Foxconn’s new factory in Chengdu can provide 300,000 iPads per month. Foxconn expects to build 50 production lines in Chengdu, so that the total production capacity of Chengdu iPad reaches 40 million units per year.

Foxconn’s Shenzhen plant currently has 2.5 million iPads per month. Foxconn said that in order to improve the working environment and physical and mental health of its workers, it has turned to a more labor-intensive Chengdu factory.

Data shows that Apple is expected to sell 7 million iPads during the holiday shopping season in the fourth quarter of this year, compared to 4.19 million units in the third quarter.
