CEVA and Sensory push advanced voice recognition solutions

Global silicon intellectual property (SIP) platform solution and digital signal processor (DSP) core authorized manufacturer CEVA and consumer product voice technology manufacturer Sensory announced that the two companies have cooperated to launch an advanced voice recognition solution.

Moshe Sheier, director of marketing of CEVA's messaging and voice products, said that after combining the second-generation power adjustment unit of CEVA's TeakLite-4 DSP and the instruction set architecture targeted at messaging / voice, product developers can easily be in the device Sensory's high-quality voice activation technology is integrated to enable it to have the industry's lowest power consumption to meet stringent battery life design specifications.

This solution is based on CEVA's TeakLite-4 DSP and Sensory's TrulyHandsfree Always On voice activation technology, which includes Sensory's Low Power Speech Detector technology, which can greatly reduce the power consumption of the listening device. And it is the first time this technology has been implemented on a DSP core.

When using the 28 nanometer (nm) process, Sensory's voice activation technology consumes less than 60 microwatts (uW) on the DSP, indicating the power consumption advantages of Sensory technology when deployed on the CEVA-TeakLite-4 DSP. It has become an ideal choice for a variety of power-sensitive applications, including smartphones, tablets, games, TVs, and automobiles.
